Program in the Political Economy of Free Markets and Chair for the Study of Global Competitive Markets

At Tel Aviv University, Bernard Schwartz established the Program in the Political Economy of Free Markets and a Chair for the Study of Global Competitive Markets. This two pronged initiative promotes research and debate on a free marketplace, globalization, economic and political issues.

Current initiatives include a look at how globalization affects the policies of central banks and inflation and the support of two PhD dissertations. The Bernard Schwartz Program and Chair will host two soon-to-be-announced panel events: the first dealing with global imbalances and the emergence of China and India as major players in the global economy, as well as a panel on the effect of political tensions in the Middle East on Israel’s capital market.
