The Horizon Project

Bernard L. Schwartz is one of 11 members — from business leaders to policy innovators — of The Horizon Project, led by Leo Hindery, Jr. The Horizon Project was established to develop legislative ideas for the Senate Democratic Policy Committee and others who share concerns about America’s continued prosperity and competitiveness, economic security, and commitment to economic and social justice.

The Horizon Project published a report in February 2007 that articulates a set of ideas in four key sectors: trade and economic growth, education, health care, and infrastructure. Their creative ideas were presented to the leadership and members of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, as well as the Senate Republican Policy Committee.
